September Favourites

Firstly, if you've read my last post you'll know i had no camera, however i just couldn't stand not being able to postpone my September Favourites any longer! Ive had to take these pictures using my phone, so understandably they're a bit hit and miss!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical £4.99 - here

Ive been having a bit of a greasy hair month throughout September - i need to find a new shampoo! This has been my saviour, and gives me that extra day between washes.

O.P.I Avojuice Skin Quenchers in Crisp Apple - here

My hands have definitely felt the wrath of the cold weather, and this is doing just the trick - so much so I've nearly used it all! :(

No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara in Black £11 - here

This is also nearly ran out, yet it continues to make my lashes long and thick - this will always be a winner in my eyes!

Christina Aguilera Eau de Parfum £16.90 -here

Ive actually used this up this month, thats how much i love it! It reminds me of being in New York, so this is a very nostalgic smell for me!

MUA Sugar Lips Lip Balm £2 - here

These are amazing, I've just wrote a review on these to expect that very soon! They've given my lips just what they need in this cold weather

Barry M Nail Paint in Rasberry £2.99 - here

I LOVE this - i will be wearing this all Autumn - its the perfect colour for this time of the year, and its really chip resistant, which is what we need when wearing dark nail colours! This is definitely my all time favourite product this month, and you'll probably see it next month too!

My other favourites include a MAC blusher brush (129SE - here) and a Barry M Shimmering Eye and Lip Crayon £4.59 (here) (these pictures wouldn't upload). Ive used both these products daily and find the quality amazing.

Non-beauty Favourites

The Hills - I've just started watching these from the beginning - 'you know what you did', Whitney falling down the stairs, and THAT rumour - what more could i want?

Galaxy Ripples - enough said really, these are divine and i need to stop eating them!

I hope you enjoyed this months favourites, sorry again for the poopy photos - i just really cannot find my charger anywhere, I'm lost ! :(

See you next month !

NOTD: DIY French Manicure

There will come a time in our lives when bright nails aren't appropriate, or we want to feel posh. A french manicure is perfect for these times, and with a little practice, theres no reason why we can't do one ourselves!

Of course there are hundreds of polishes out there you can use to do this, but these are the ones i like to use.

L.A colours in French Nails Pink - here
OPI RapiDry TopCoat - here
Barry M Nail Paint in Matt White - here

The steps could not be simpler!
1. Paint 2 coats of a half moon shape over the white part of your nail (if you have shorter nails, you can cheat and make your white bit look longer ;) ) and wait to dry.

2. Paint 1 coat of the pink (i found that 2 coats don't work with this particular polish) and wait to dry.

3. Use a top coat to keep manicure in place for longer

4. Wear pretty jewellery on your hands so that everyone notices your lady like hands!

NOTD - OPI Mod About You (my all time fave)

This is my all time favourite nail polish. It was (nearly) my first OPI and i bought it because i had seen it in MissBudgetBeauty 's video, and despite her warning about the quality, i couldnt resist. I did however spend months looking for a cheaper dupe, and i bought far too many pink polishes, to no avail. So i finally caved in and bought this.

It has ABSOLUTELY NO STAYING POWER, it chips after a day, not even that long sometimes.  Ive tried all sorts of top coats on this but nothing works, i simply have to carry it around in my handbag, covering up the chips as i go.

Having said that, its totally worth it, because the colour is like nothing else out there (that i could find). Its basically disney princess pink - if you put this alongside disney princess pink its an exact match i promise. (And i love disney princesses)

This is perfect for spring, but to be honest i love it so much ive worn it nearly every month since i got it no matter what time of the year. I really cant recommend this enough, if youre a girly girl or want to embrace the pastel season that is upon us, you cant afford not to buy this!

By the way if anyone can help me increase the staying power of this id really appreciate it, as ive heard other OPI's last forever!

NOTD -OPI Significant Other Colour

For valentines day this year i really wanted a nail polish with an appropriate name, and who better to choose than OPI? With Lewis being at work (he works away) i was left to choose what shade i wanted, what a shame eh :)
I chose this purely because i had no other colour like it, plus i loved the name, it just seemed to fit so well.

When first applied, this is so sheer you can hardly see it, but i prefer my polishes to be fairly noticeable, so after 3 coats i was satisfied! As you can see from the photos, the product has so many colours running through it, which has actually picked up well on the photos for a change! What i would say though is that in real life this colour isn't as pigmented on the photos, i think the lighting has intensified it.

This took 4 days to chip, which is pretty good going considering i didn't apply a top coat, and its actually restored my faith in OPI, after trying other ones which are a bit naff.

Overall, i really like this polish (maybe not love) and ill definitely wear it again, but ill maybe save it for when Lewis is home, as this has more sentimental value than anything else really.

Have you tried this?

I am the luckiest blogger ever! Brilliant Haul

I started my blog because i wanted to write about beauty products, as i figured i was trying and testing so many out, and believe me i had a lot of opinions! Seeing a new follower makes my day, thats like a gift in itself, so imagine my excitement when i actually received my very own personalised beauty box from the beautiful Laura-Jayn . (If anything is to come out of this post, let it be the fact you check out her blog, its brilliant, and very down to east, just like herself.)

So anyway, i thought id share with you exactly what i got, and I'm already in the process of reviewing these products, which be in later posts!

I have a yankee petal burner (ill probably do a seperate post on this - its amazing) and basically you light the tee light, and put these tarts in the petal and they melt and give off the most amazing scents ever! The vanilla lime smells just like a Shamrock Shake (from McDonalds) i had in New York - hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about! Basically these smell good enough to eat, its probably only a matter of time knowing what I'm like!

Ive never even heard of these, i had no idea OPI did hand creams, where have i been? My middle name is Jasmine, so I love anything with this on, it smells so summery, yet really light at the same time. The crisp apple I'm going to start using now because it smells just like spring!

I have a confession about this one. This has been on my want list for quite some time after purchasing the mascara version, but i just couldn't justify spending around £18 (i think) on this one product, when i didn't really know what it was like. Imagine my delight when i opened this! I CANNOT wait to try this, i haven't even put it in my drawers yet, its got pride of place on my dresser :)

Im unsure of what make these are, but if you ask Laura-Jayn i guarantee she will get back to you! When it comes to lipgloss, I'm all about the pink, so these colours are perfect, and they smell sooooo nice - they've got a real girly flowery scent to them. (I know that makes no sense, but feel free to use your imagination!)

I actually picked up one of these in a set at Boots in the January sales, as i had points to spend, but i actually ended up getting a Strictly Come Dancing palette instead (random yes) so I'm really pleased about receiving this! Also, my aunty uses this brand, and she only uses really good things, so i have complete confidence in this! ;)

What i love about Dead Sea Spa is the purity of the products. There's very little scent, but quality is really up there. I think people might have received these in their GlossyBox's maybe? Im sure I've seen some reviews of this in GlossyBox posts! I love exfoliating because i dance everyday, so it really helps me keep fresh!

She knows me too well! I have so much nail polish, however Laura-Jayn managed to send me shades i haven't got, I'm still in shock!
(L-R) London, Jemima, and Sadie
Again, as these were gifts i don't know where they are from, I've not seen them in my local area at all, but I'm sure Laura-Jayn will comment and tell you!

(L-R) Glistening Purple, and Jewel Tone  - I've already had a play with these, and they are the best glitters I've ever used. Enough said (well I'm going to do a post, but ya know!)

Im a firm believer of mixing it up when it comes to nail polish. So i tend to wear a really bright polish, then a more subtle one, same with lights and darks etc. These colours look perfect for a natural subtle look.
(L-R) French Nail-Pink, Breathless Blue

(L-R) Paradise Pink, Dark Denim, Rasberry
As with lip glosses, i LOVE pink nails, and i think the purple glitter will go really well over Rasberry, i just can't wait to try them all!

Last but not least, a Models Own in Magenta Pearl - i tried to capture the colours running through this, but it was so difficult as there are so many, and as you move the polish bottle, the colours change - magical!

So there we go, how lucky am i? I just want to say thank you so much Laura-Jayn, this was such a lovely surprise, me and my sister were opening everything screaming with excitement! I cannot wait to try all these things, every single product was thoughtful, and i can't say how grateful i am.
Ive started collecting things for you in return, so you'll have a little spring themed makeup kit in your hands in the near future!

haul - mostly nail polish

Ok, so I've bought way too many nail polish in the past week, thats me done for a long time now (i think.) I just can't seem to get storage for them all ! Some of these polishes were valentines days fault (not mine !) so i deserve a little slack.. right?

Rimmel Lipsticks (L-R) Crush and Dreamer
Ive been trying to expand my lipstick collection for a few weeks now, and I've taken fancy to nude lipsticks, as i have very little! Crush is more of a nude with a hint of coral, whereas Dreamer is a real girly sugar pink - i really can't wait to wear these !

This is the China Glaze wedding collection. Im not married, nor am i engaged, but i do love weddings, and a good love story ! I also loved the delicate sheer pastels, and i figured why not get the whole set rather than just one?
(L-R) Hope Chest, Exceptionally Gifted, Mr and Mrs, Tie The Knot, Pop the Question

I love Rimmel polishes, and their fairly priced, and I'm definitely going to get some more!
(L-R) Promiscuous, Pink Punk, Cashmere, Sunny Side, Jungle Princess

This picture isn't great but its late and after a good few attempts this is the best i could do!
MUA eyelid primer - I'm really interested in this as i currently use Lemonaid by Benefit, and if this is just as good, ill definitely be converting!
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara - I've seen this on pretty much everyones blog, so you'll know it was free from Elle magazine. I will swatch this in the next few days

Nicole by O.P.I in My Lifesaver (from the Justin Bieber collection) This is a dupe for China Glaze's 'For Audrey'. The best way to describe this colour is Tiffany blue!
Collection 2000 in Lemon Soda - i saw this and i don't have a pastel yellow, and at £1.79 i didn't see the harm!

And now the grande finale. This was all because of valentines day. The shade is Significant Other Colour. I basically wanted a nail polish to wear for when me and Lewis celebrated valentines day, and i wanted the name to be appropriate. I looked at all different brands, and saw many i liked, but i had dupes of them, and i didn't know if i could justify spending money on something just because of what it was called. When i saw this i was sold - i don't have a colour anything like it, and it just seemed perfect, different to the typical red or pink you would expect for valentines. This colour is so nice, i walked through the door to find my mum painting her nails with it, before i even had chance myself.

So that was quite a big hall, thanks for getting to the end ! I am going to chill out on the nail varnish obsession, even the postman is using phrases like 'she's at it again' 'heres yet another parcel' . Its wrong i know!

Have you tried any of these polishes?
