Review : Soap and Glory Off Your Face Wipes

Like many of you lucious ladies, i received this in my Hey Big Spleandour gift set at christmas, and i started using them straight away. You can purchase these from Boots here for £4.50
Personally, it is very unlikely id pay £4.50 for face wipes, I'm more of a get whatever's on offer kind of girl, so to be able to try these out was quite a luxury for me.

The SMELL of these are just like any other Soap and Glory products (Mist you Madly, Righteous Butter etc) and my face subsequently smelt like this after id used them, which was lovely.
I don't know about you, but i think theres nothing worse than scraping a dry makeup wipe across your face, especially if you have sensitive skin. These were the complete opposite, they were so moist id almost say they were wet, ensuring all my makeup was successfully removed.
Unfortunately i forgot to take a photo of the wipes, but they're basically covered in a honeycomb-like pattern, with little ridges, creating an exfoliating effect. I don't often use face wipes which also exfoliate, so this was a nice change, and it felt like not only had all my makeup been fully removed, but i also felt cleansed. When i cleansed after using these, the cotton pad was clean, so these definitely do what they say on the tin!

The only downside to these for me, was that they were so fragranced, and so full of wonderful things, they stung my eyes a little, if i had 2 coats of mascara on that day. I think the exfoliating effect added to this also.

Overall, the benefits of these wipes totally outweigh the downfalls, and i think i would repurchase these again if i was in the mood to look after my skin that day, and had a few spare pennies. If not ill probably just to stick to whats on buy one get one free at home bargains.

Please tell me what you thought of these wipes, id love to know your thoughts!

NOTD -OPI Significant Other Colour

For valentines day this year i really wanted a nail polish with an appropriate name, and who better to choose than OPI? With Lewis being at work (he works away) i was left to choose what shade i wanted, what a shame eh :)
I chose this purely because i had no other colour like it, plus i loved the name, it just seemed to fit so well.

When first applied, this is so sheer you can hardly see it, but i prefer my polishes to be fairly noticeable, so after 3 coats i was satisfied! As you can see from the photos, the product has so many colours running through it, which has actually picked up well on the photos for a change! What i would say though is that in real life this colour isn't as pigmented on the photos, i think the lighting has intensified it.

This took 4 days to chip, which is pretty good going considering i didn't apply a top coat, and its actually restored my faith in OPI, after trying other ones which are a bit naff.

Overall, i really like this polish (maybe not love) and ill definitely wear it again, but ill maybe save it for when Lewis is home, as this has more sentimental value than anything else really.

Have you tried this?

I am the luckiest blogger ever! Brilliant Haul

I started my blog because i wanted to write about beauty products, as i figured i was trying and testing so many out, and believe me i had a lot of opinions! Seeing a new follower makes my day, thats like a gift in itself, so imagine my excitement when i actually received my very own personalised beauty box from the beautiful Laura-Jayn . (If anything is to come out of this post, let it be the fact you check out her blog, its brilliant, and very down to east, just like herself.)

So anyway, i thought id share with you exactly what i got, and I'm already in the process of reviewing these products, which be in later posts!

I have a yankee petal burner (ill probably do a seperate post on this - its amazing) and basically you light the tee light, and put these tarts in the petal and they melt and give off the most amazing scents ever! The vanilla lime smells just like a Shamrock Shake (from McDonalds) i had in New York - hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about! Basically these smell good enough to eat, its probably only a matter of time knowing what I'm like!

Ive never even heard of these, i had no idea OPI did hand creams, where have i been? My middle name is Jasmine, so I love anything with this on, it smells so summery, yet really light at the same time. The crisp apple I'm going to start using now because it smells just like spring!

I have a confession about this one. This has been on my want list for quite some time after purchasing the mascara version, but i just couldn't justify spending around £18 (i think) on this one product, when i didn't really know what it was like. Imagine my delight when i opened this! I CANNOT wait to try this, i haven't even put it in my drawers yet, its got pride of place on my dresser :)

Im unsure of what make these are, but if you ask Laura-Jayn i guarantee she will get back to you! When it comes to lipgloss, I'm all about the pink, so these colours are perfect, and they smell sooooo nice - they've got a real girly flowery scent to them. (I know that makes no sense, but feel free to use your imagination!)

I actually picked up one of these in a set at Boots in the January sales, as i had points to spend, but i actually ended up getting a Strictly Come Dancing palette instead (random yes) so I'm really pleased about receiving this! Also, my aunty uses this brand, and she only uses really good things, so i have complete confidence in this! ;)

What i love about Dead Sea Spa is the purity of the products. There's very little scent, but quality is really up there. I think people might have received these in their GlossyBox's maybe? Im sure I've seen some reviews of this in GlossyBox posts! I love exfoliating because i dance everyday, so it really helps me keep fresh!

She knows me too well! I have so much nail polish, however Laura-Jayn managed to send me shades i haven't got, I'm still in shock!
(L-R) London, Jemima, and Sadie
Again, as these were gifts i don't know where they are from, I've not seen them in my local area at all, but I'm sure Laura-Jayn will comment and tell you!

(L-R) Glistening Purple, and Jewel Tone  - I've already had a play with these, and they are the best glitters I've ever used. Enough said (well I'm going to do a post, but ya know!)

Im a firm believer of mixing it up when it comes to nail polish. So i tend to wear a really bright polish, then a more subtle one, same with lights and darks etc. These colours look perfect for a natural subtle look.
(L-R) French Nail-Pink, Breathless Blue

(L-R) Paradise Pink, Dark Denim, Rasberry
As with lip glosses, i LOVE pink nails, and i think the purple glitter will go really well over Rasberry, i just can't wait to try them all!

Last but not least, a Models Own in Magenta Pearl - i tried to capture the colours running through this, but it was so difficult as there are so many, and as you move the polish bottle, the colours change - magical!

So there we go, how lucky am i? I just want to say thank you so much Laura-Jayn, this was such a lovely surprise, me and my sister were opening everything screaming with excitement! I cannot wait to try all these things, every single product was thoughtful, and i can't say how grateful i am.
Ive started collecting things for you in return, so you'll have a little spring themed makeup kit in your hands in the near future!

"Friends are the most important ingredient in this recipe of life."

NOTD: FAMOUS by Sue Moxley

The photos above aint great are they? Well neither is this nail polish.
Lets start on the colour (shade 12) - i love this colour, its a very deep berry red, perfect for winter. Thats pretty much the only thing i love about this, and the only reason ill continue to use it.

This has zero staying power, and looks quite shoddy after a day or two to be honest. I initially purchased the Sue Moxley Palette, which i really love, and i thought id love this too.
Im unsure as to whether id purchase anymore of these (from Superdrug by the way) as they're just not worth the money, however the packaging, and large bottle may just sway me.

Have you tried this polish, or any others from this Range?

Soap And Glory - Thick & Fast Mascara Review

Like many others, i received this mascara free with last months copy of Elle (i must say i was disappointed with the magazine, it was just full of adverts).
This is the first cosmetic product I've tried from Soap and Glory, and given the fact i LOVE their skincare products, i was excited to try this.

Firstly, i don't know why my eye balls are all over the place, I'm going to blame the bright sun that was shining in at the time!
This mascara definitely gets better each time i use it - as most do !
I wouldn't pay £10 for this, purely because i don't usually pay that much for mascaras.
I really do love this mascara, as it lengthens them really well, although it can tend the clump a little, and as you can see in the photo, there is quite a bit of product build up around the top of the tube.
This mascara would be perfect for a night out, as it makes lashes look very full, although I'm not sure whether another coat would make this more clumpy, as one coat slightly does.

Overall I'm very pleased with this mascara, so much so I'm only going to use it occasionally because i don't want it to run out! If you're looking for a night time mascara, or love full looking lashes for daytime, this is the one!

VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD

This is the blogpost I've been wanting to write for quite some time, and over the past week i was given this 3 times, safe to say i am one very very happy little blogger! Thank you so much to the girls who gave this to me, i have linked their blogs below because they are all really good regular reads of mine, so make sure you check them out

http://phatfashionandbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/

http://golddustk.blogspot.co.uk/

So from what i gather, i have to write 7 facts about myself, then link 10 blogs i think are worthy of this award, sounds simple enough, so here we go!

1. Aside from my little toe, the rest of my toes are all the same size (i am called square foot/spatula foot often)

2. I am nearly 20 years old and i still sleep with a teddy bear, who goes on every holiday with me

3. My bedroom is practically a shrine to Audrey Hepburn and Marylin Monroe - my idols

4. I am a navy girlfriend, which can be poopy at times, but you can't help who you fall in love with

5. I can do the single ladies routine front to back, inside out

6. Dance is my biggest passion, and i feel so blessed to be doing it at university

7. I am obsessed with the 40s and 50s, and would dress in this fashion everyday if i could

So there we go, now you know a little bit more about me :)

The blogs i tag are:

Those are my chosen 10, all are brilliant blogs which get me through a hard days work, so thank you!

No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Day Hand Cream - review and a whiffy smell!

I received this in a set at christmas time, and i loved the fact its just the right size for my handbag. Ive been using this most days for a few weeks now, and i started using it because my hands have been really quite dry, and i guessed this would be really good quality as its no7 right? ...

This is more of a summer cream, as its very light, and does soften hands, but didn't do anything for my dryness. Now let me get onto the most significant thing about this product - THE SMELL.
When i first used this product, i noticed a significantly strong smell of fish. Sounds like I'm joking but I'm really not. Ive been called a drama queen many a time, so i was unsure whether i was just overreacting, which let to a little test i created. I decided to use this in public, then casually ask the people who i was with if they wanted some. My friend from uni said she had this hand cream, and that it 'sometimes smells of fish', and when i gave it to my mum, her reaction was something close to 'eurgh sam what is that'. My aunty had to go and wash it off her hands because she just couldn't bear to keep it on.

So there you go, i don't know whether i got a dodgy batch, but the smell of this ensures id never buy this product again, despite the fact it was good quality and softened my hands. Im tempted to contact no7, not to be some crazy angry woman, but just to see if it was just mine that smelt like this, but i wanted to see if any other bloggers had had this experience first.

Please comment if you've used this cream, i know this is a really weird blogpost, but its been a weird experience to be honest !

Have a lovely day

NOTD: no7 Totally Teal

I got this a few weeks ago with my Boots £5 no7 voucher, and if I'm honest i didn't get it because i loved the colour, i simply picked it because i don't really have a colour like it.
Honestly, i like the idea of treating myself to a polish which is usually £7, and theres no denying they look pretty on my dresser!
This photo was taken the day after i painted my nails, and as you can see they are very slightly chipped on the edge, but I'm sure they'd last a little longer with a top coat!

Overall, i like this polish, but its not really a versatile colour which goes with anything. Nonetheless, i will still use this again, probably during autumn months!

Boots and Superdrug spring Haul

I caved in ! I had points and vouchers and i just couldn't help myself ! :( Please don't make me feel bad, we all have little slips when we are supposed to be saving don't we?
Anyway, here's what i got..

Fearne Cotton's makeup range is STILL 75% off in Boots, although admittedly there isn't much left! The palette which was supposed to be £12 cost me £3, and the nail polish was £1.37, rather than £5.50. I already have another of these polishes and they are GREAT!

These are currently 2 for £3 in Superdrug, and although i pretty much have every shade of nail varnish possible, i couldn't resist. These are perfect travel size, and for touching up on the go, not to mention how kind they are to your purse !

I LOVE these. I already have Cotton Candy 1, and i just had to have these. At £2.99 each they're lovely and cheap, and this finish they give is gorgeous. I love these so much I'm going to do a full review, so watch out for that!

What would a trip to Superdrug be without picking up a few MUA essentials? I love their black liquid eyeliner, so i picked up the dark brown one (shade 6), and whilst at the stand realised i don't have a clear lipgloss, causing shade 1 to fall into my basket, oops!

These are the best lipgloss colours ever, however they're quite sheer when applied, but for a £1 each i am more than happy. The only bug bare about these is the smell. Everyone else will love them, but they remind me of an air freshener my mum used to use when we used to go away EVERY weekend in the caravan, despite the fact i just wanted to go the cinema or shopping with my friends like every other 13 year old. Anyway back to the topic at hand.. the shades i got are Shade 1, Shade 4 and Shade 5

Ive never tried Posie Tint by Benefit, but I've heard this being compared to it. My skin has been a little dry these winter months, so i figured this could be better for my skin than a powdered blusher, only thing is, I'm not quite sure how to use it...

This is all Laura Jayn's fault. She recently did a post about nude lipsticks (here) and 17 are currently 3 for 2 in Boots, so i couldn't resist. Beehive cost £4.59, and Dreamy cost £4.29, which isn't too bad as lipsticks last forever don't they! I am in love with both these colours, and although they look pretty much the same in the photo, they aren't (expect a review and swatches soon). Infact these are going straight in my handbag for the rest of spring!

With the 3 for 2 offer, this blush was actually free, but it usually costs £3.49, very purse friendly! I couldn't really capture the brightness of this blush, its a really shocking coral colour, so this might be a bit of disaster for me at first (i must think about building up small layers!) Its also perfect travel size, and the packaging feels really expensive!

Surprise surprise i had yet another no7 voucher from spending all this money, so i thought id just bite the bullet and spend it right away! I have too many red polishes as it is, but i quite like the fact my no7 nail polish collection is slowly growing thanks to all these vouchers, so i couldn't resist! This is usually £7, but with my voucher it cost £2 (you all know the score)

So that was my little spring haul, which will probably be my last for a few weeks (hopefully)! Expect reviews, and swatches of all these products, as i can't wait to test them out.

NOTD - a touch of nude

Ive had a little set of these polishes from next for what seems like a long time, but I've only just got round to trying them out, and in a nutshell -  I'm very impressed! I'm always a bit dubious about retail brands which branch out into cosmetics, however I've been converted!

These mini polishes are from Next, and although they don't have names or shades, id say this is a shimmery nude beige, perfect for a subtle work look, or if you want to look less fussy (is that even the right phrase to use?)
This last 5 days with no chips, and i didn't even use a top coat! Bear in mind i am a dance student and i also work in a pub, so my hands receive a lot of wear and tea, so for this to last this long on my is brilliant !

Have you tried any of these Next polishes?

Harrods Glossybox - my last ever

If you read my last months Glossybox post you'll know i intended to cancel my subscription, however by the time i did it it was too late, and so i have since received the Harrods special edition, which in a way I'm glad about because the chance of me ever going to Harrods is probably unlikely!

So heres what i got..

 Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream

Burberry Beauty - Miniature Lip Mist in Copper - this excited me the most out of the whole box, I've never had a burberry lipstick and i probably never will, so yeyy!

Molten Brown Heavenly Gingerlily Moisture Bath and Shower

YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum - THANKS GlossyBox for sending me yet another anti-ageing product, despite the fact i filled out the beauty questionnaire specifying i didn't want these types of products (i am 19 years old.)

Narciso Rodriduez - For Her Eau De Parfum
I couldn't get a decent picture of this, and quite frankly i couldn't be bothered trying. I paid £13 to receive something i could have gone up to a beauty counter and got for free, just one of the many reasons i am no longer a GlossyBox subscriber. I think thats enough said .
